Description of the dataset
- LSEG delivers industry classification content that helps customers organize, compare and analyze legal entities by economic activity and business profile. We support major classification frameworks including TRBC, NAICS, NACE, SIC, GICS and ICB for investment research, benchmarking, regulatory analysis and entity data management.
- Our coverage captures rich hierarchical structures across classification standards, including TRBC’s 13 economic sectors, 32 business groups, 61 industry groups, 153 industries and 895 activities. LSEG also supports classification depth across NAICS with 20 sectors, GICS with 11 sectors, and ICB with 45 sectors and 11 industries.
- We help customers align companies and establishments to recognized sector and industry taxonomies for portfolio analysis, index construction, screening and reporting. LSEG’s classification coverage includes industry counts and hierarchy levels such as 61, 153, 25, 74 and 11 industry-related groupings across supported frameworks.
