London Stock Exchange Capital Markets Conference in Kazakhstan
LSEG Capital Markets Conference in Kazakhstan
Wednesday 19 July 2017
Our Group hosted a Capital Markets Conference in Kazakhstan on 19 July in Astana, the country's capital city. Filled to capacity with attendees from the highest levels of the country's business community, as well as senior government representatives, it was a conference that clearly demonstrated the strength of our partnership with Kazakhstan and signposted London as the natural home of choice for Kazakh companies.
An LSEG Primary Markets team, headed by Ayuna Nechaeva, Head of Russia, CIS and Mongolia, and Tom Attenborough, Head of International Business Development, was joined by Greg Hands MP, UK Minister for Trade and Investment, who delivered a keynote speech pledging support for the country's far reaching privatisation programme.
Others to address the conference included Dauren Tasmagambetov, Director of Asset Restructuring and Privatisation at Samruk-Kazyna, Kazakhstan's Sovereign Wealth Fund, who delivered an important update on the ongoing programme.
The attendance of many LSEG clients and prospective clients, plus a conference format that provided plenty of opportunity for valuable bilateral meetings, set the seal on an event that has already generated very positive feedback.
The conference maintained the strong momentum established by the Kazakhstan Privatisation/SWF Samruk-Kazyna Investor Day, which we hosted in London on 5 April. This was attended by over 200 people and was many times oversubscribed.
