"I wanted to join LSEG because it’s a world-renowned global company and would expose me to a wide range of businesses and people. I also valued the chance to learn about the global financial ecosystem, and make use of the many opportunities to grow, both professionally and personally.

"The rotation scheme allows you to see what you’re good at in a professional setting, where you might fit in skills-wise, and also gives you a chance to align your expectations with the reality of the professional world. This was very valuable for me, and I have learned a lot.

"My first rotation was in Segment Marketing at FTSE Russell, which gave me lots of exposure to different business lines. The team promotes FTSE Russell Indexes and benchmarks to asset owners and asset managers, consultants, and the wealth segment. I interacted with clients at conferences and events, and helped prepare marketing materials, spreadsheets, and comparisons to develop the FTSE Russell value proposition. Marketing has a very global and diverse team. I got work with talented people and developed lots of international relationships.

"My second rotation is in the U.S. Asset Management Index Sales and is very different to marketing. I work primarily with the U.S. asset management sales team, dealing with the majority of the world’s largest asset managers. Our job is to license FTSE Russell products to asset managers and develop and promote the FTSE Russell sales proposition. My role involves understanding client needs, developing client proposals, assisting account managers and supporting the sales efforts.

"There are six of us in the US cohort of graduates, and we’ve become good friends and support one another in and out of the office. A bonus of the rotation is that as we all move around the organisation, we get to learn what the others are doing and build our networks."
