Our Saudi Arabian Indices are designed to showcase the performance of Saudi Arabia’s equity market.

Our FTSE Saudi Arabian Indices are designed to represent the performance of Saudi Arabian companies that are available to domestic investors and Qualified Foreign Investors (QFIs). The Series includes two different indices, which both cover eligible Saudi stocks listed on Tadawul’s Main Market.

FTSE Saudi Arabia Indices

Designed for QFIs, constituents exclude companies that are restricted from foreign investment. As QFIs also face foreign ownership limits (FOL), the constituents of the Saudi Arabian Indices are weighted by the lower of free float and FOL.

Saudi Arabia tells a story of change.As the leading energy exporter continues to pursue plansto diversify its economy away from oil,this video looks at the FTSE Saudi Arabia Net Total Return Index.The index is designed to reflect the performanceof large and mid-sized capitalization Saudi Arabian companieslisted on Tadawul's main marketand is suitable for international investors.Foreign ownership limitations are applied to the index,in line with the Qualified Foreign Investor (QFI) program.The index is underpinned with a comprehensive index methodologypowered by FTSE Russell, a leading index provider.The index universe startswith the Saudi listings on the Tadawul main market,where FTSE Russell's rigorous global equity and Middle East and Africa thresholdsare applied to listings to determine the eligible stock universe.Once the investment universe has been established,investability screens are appliedto determine a given security's free float,foreign ownership limit, liquidity,and minimum size.The companies that meet FTSE Russell's criteriaare available for inclusion in the index.The FTSE Saudi Arabia NTR Index is a market capitalization-weighted index.While Saudi Arabia's economy is largely dependent on oil,the country's oil companies tend to be majority-owned by the government.As such, energy stocks have comparatively little representationin Saudi Arabia's equity market.The most heavily weighted industry in the FTSE Saudi Arabia NTR Indexis financials,which comprise half of the Top 10 Index Constituents.Semi-annual reviews in March and Septemberensure the index benefits from FTSE Russell'sglobal best practice standards of index governance,so that investors always have the most accurate representationof the Saudi Arabian equity market,and their exposure is predictableand well-informed.FTSE Russell's index expertise and products are used extensively by investors globally.For over 30 years, leading asset owners,asset managers, ETF providers,and investment banks have chosen FTSE Russell indicesto benchmark their investment performanceand create investment funds, ETFs, structured products,and index-based derivatives.Amidst Saudi Arabia's wide-ranging social and economic reforms towards its 2030 Vision,the FTSE Saudi Arabia NTR Index stands as a gateway,offering international investors with unparalleled accessto this ever-evolving landscape.

FTSE Saudi Arabia Free Indices

Designed for Saudi domestic investors, constituents are weighted by free float. The FTSE Saudi Arabia Free All Cap Index provides the broadest coverage in the series by including large, mid and small cap companies, while the FTSE Saudi Arabia Free Index includes large and mid cap companies.

We also offer a Shariah compliant Saudi Arabian Index, the FTSE IdealRatings Saudi Arabia Free All Cap Islamic Index, which reflects the performance of Shariah compliant Saudi Arabian equities.
