“I work as a Finance Business Partner at LCH, supporting the non OTC businesses – RepoClear (bond and repo clearing), EquityClear (stocks and shares) and CALM (collateral and liquidity management). In my role I get to partner with a dynamic group of stakeholders, helping them to track financial performance against targets and supporting analysis for decision making. I really enjoy watching our business ideas materialise, and our mature businesses innovate as they introduce new product offerings. Things are always changing, because movement in the markets – driven by fluctuating interest rates and events such as Brexit or the US elections – impacts our risk models and determines how much margin we call and the volume of activity on our platforms.
I’m part of a team that values the work that I do and allows me to grow. We’re given a safe space to innovate and try new things and we're encouraged to ask questions and be curious; to drive for process improvement and efficiency. LSEG is a very intricate business and I’ve found that the more people you speak to and engage with, the better an understanding of our business you gain.
LSEG is such a diverse organisation, and that gives me a real sense of belonging. I have a keen interest in diversity, equity and inclusion, and I’m co-Chair of the UK Multicultural Network and BEING (Black Employee Inspired Network) Communications Lead. In my communications I often use the hashtag #IAmLSEG because it encapsulates that feeling of connectedness, regardless of our background and culture. We are all one outfit and we all take pride in the LSEG brand and our ability to deliver for our clients, both internal and external. The Multicultural Network hosts events that allow us to come together to celebrate our diversity. We hope to get people talking about culture and race, and to create an environment of acknowledgement and acceptance of differences.”
