Post Trade Solutions Expands Open-Source Risk Engine Integration with BNY to Enhance Risk Analytics
ORE was successfully integrated into BNY’s risk infrastructure last year and has consistently delivered comprehensive derivative pricing and risk analytics as part of the bank’s wider risk framework.
In an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving risk environment, the need for transparent and flexible post trade derivatives solutions has never been greater. Firms today require access to high-quality pricing and risk analytics systems that can support complex trades and growing transaction volumes. We’re excited to expand ORE’s integration with BNY, bringing the benefits of PFE calculation into their risk system and enhancing the value that our open-source technology can offer across the post-trade lifecycle.
Delivering High-Quality Risk Analytics with Open-Source Risk Engine version 15
A free-to-access simulation engine for pricing, risk, and valuation, ORE serves as a critical resource for firms managing derivatives and other traded products. It enables clients to perform complex scenario analysis and simulations for portfolio pricing and management, regulatory compliance, and model validation – delivered with a high degree of transparency, flexibility, and control.
Earlier this year, Post Trade Solutions launched the 15th release of ORE, introducing new functionalities, upgrades to existing features, and an enhanced user experience. The latest version reflects Post Trade Solutions’ commitment to maintaining an open dialogue with its global community and delivering enhanced analytical precision, flexibility, and usability in response to evolving industry needs.
Partnership in Action
Since ORE was first integrated into BNY’s existing risk infrastructure in 2025, it has established a proven track record. The deployment of the PFE capability builds on this successful collaboration, enabling ORE to deliver greater consistency across the bank’s risk analytics capabilities. This integration further simplifies and streamlines BNY’s existing risk systems, enhancing operational efficiency while significantly reducing operational costs.
The deployment required significant customization to align ORE’s architecture with BNY’s counterparty structures, reporting frameworks, and high-volume production workloads. To successfully address this complexity, the program involved close cross-functional collaboration across multiple internal teams within a tight timeframe.
Larry Mao, Head of Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk Technology at BNY, commented:
I have seen a lot of system changes in my career, but never one that was done as efficiently as this one. It was amazing and surpassed my expectations by far. What definitely helped getting this project over the line was the knowledge, reliability and agility of the Post Trade Solutions team.
