Overview of Exchange Traded Funds

Description of the dataset

  • For exchange traded fund workflows, LSEG provides market-leading global reference data across real-time and time series use cases. Our ETF coverage includes content across 38 markets, supporting analysis of listed funds, product setup and security master maintenance.
  • We enrich ETF records with core reference attributes such as instrument PermID, CFI Code, asset category, asset type, issuer relationship, listing status and primary issue flag. LSEG also captures security long descriptions, ISO-style financial instrument short names and Refinitiv Classification Scheme values for consistent classification.
  • Our quote-level ETF data supports market identification and trading context through fields such as first trade date, exchange code, operating MIC, market segment MIC, country primary quote, suspend flag, trading status, lot size and settlement days. We connect these records to identifiers including Quote PermID and ISIN to simplify integration across LSEG platforms and customer systems.
  • LSEG combines ETF reference data with broader ETF market insight covering price and performance, NAVs, bids, offers, total net assets, dividends, distributions, benchmarks, domicile and Lipper Global Classifications where available. We support search, screening, reporting, analytics and charting workflows by maintaining standardised ETF metadata.
