London Stock Exchange Group Board appointments
London Stock Exchange Group (the “Group”) today announces the appointments of Professor Lex Hoogduin as Non-Executive Director and David Nish as Independent Non-Executive Director to its Board, effective immediately.
Professor Lex Hoogduin is currently Chairman of LCH.Clearnet Group Limited. Professor Hoogduin previously served as Executive Director at De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) from January 2009 until July 2011, where his responsibilities included economic policy and research, financial stability, financial markets, statistics and payment, clearing and settlement systems. He has also held a number of economic advisory positions as Chief Economist at Robeco, Managing Director of the IRIS research institute and advisor to the first president of the ECB.
David Nish was the Chief Executive Officer of Standard Life Plc from January 2010 to September 2015. He joined the company as Group Finance Director in November 2006. Mr. Nish was previously the Group Finance Director of Scottish Power plc from 1999 to 2005 and a former Partner at Price Waterhouse. He is a Non-Executive Director of the UK Green Investment Bank Plc and, with effect from 1 January 2016, Vodafone Group plc. Previously, he has been a Non-Executive Director of Northern Foods plc, Thus plc, HDFC Life (India) and was Deputy Chairman of the Association of British Insurers.

Biography: Professor Lex Hoogduin
Lex Hoogduin became Chairman of LCH.Clearnet Group in March 2015. He originally joined the Group as an INED in September 2012 and has previously chaired the Risk Committees for its UK, French and US legal entity boards. Professor Hoogduin was an Executive Director at De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) from January 2009 until July 2011, responsible for economic policy and research, financial stability, financial markets, statistics and payment, clearing and settlement systems. Between 2005 and 2008, he was the Chief Economist of Robeco and Managing Director of the IRIS research institute. Prior to this, he was division director of Scientific Research at DNB and was also an advisor of Wim Duisenberg, the first president of the ECB.
Professor Hoogduin is a part-time professor in complexity and uncertainty in financial markets and financial institutions at the State University of Groningen. He holds an M.A. and Ph.D in Economics from State University of Groningen.
Biography: David Nish
David Nish successfully led Standard Life Plc as Chief Executive Officer from January 2010 to September 2015. He joined the company as Group Finance Director in November 2006. Mr. Nish was the Group Finance Director of Scottish Power plc from 1999 to 2005 and is a former Partner at Price Waterhouse.
He is a Non-Executive Director of the UK Green Investment Bank Plc and, with effect from 1 January 2016, Vodafone Group plc. and is a member of the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. He has previously been a Non-Executive Director of Northern Foods plc, Thus plc, HDFC Life (India) and Royal Scottish National Orchestra. He was also Deputy Chairman of the Association of British Insurers, a member of the City UK Board Advisory Committee and a member of the Financial Services Advisory Board of the Scottish Government.
