Following the global financial crisis, the European Commission decided to review the MiFID framework, and in October 2011 published proposals for a revised directive (MiFID II) and a new regulation (MiFIR). After lengthy debates in the European Parliament and within the European Council, MiFID II and MiFIR were approved last year. This new piece of regulation is the centrepiece of financial markets reform in Europe and will come into effect in January 2017. It will have a far-reaching impact on those engaged in the dealing and processing of all kinds of financial instruments, leaving no business or operational model untouched.
UnaVista are sponsoring the British Bankers Association conference on MiFID II. David Nowell will be presenting during the day on MiFID II reporting requirements helping firms to prepare for the go-live. UnaVista will also have a stand where you can come and talk to one of our representatives about our MiFID II reporting services.
