Nurturing the most exciting private companies across Europe

Today, our ELITE programme reached an important milestone with more than 200 private companies across Europe joining its ranks. Forty seven new companies joined ELITE

with 31 companies joining from Italy and 16 from the UK, and events taking place in both Milan and London, the 24-month innovative business support programme for dynamic, privately-owned businesses is going from strength to strength.

The 31 Italian companies joining ELITE today have an average turnover of €191 million and a growth rate at the time of admission of 10 per cent. The companies represent a wide range of sectors, from software and IT services to industrial engineering, food and fashion.  Equally important, 16 ELITE companies received their ELITE Certificates today, recognising them for their efforts and achievements in their completion the 2-year ELITE programme.

Enabling larger companies to grow too

ELITE in Italy, was originally conceived as a programme for SMEs, but has attracted interest from larger businesses, who were too large for ELITE’s select criteria. Using this as a driver, Borsa Italiana has developed, and today launches, a new exclusive service ‘ELITE for Large Corporates’, dedicated to larger companies that want to grow further and become more international. Five companies above the 500mEuro and two above the 1bnEuro mark were the first to be admitted today.

Raffaele Jerusalmi, CEO of Borsa Italiana said: “ELITE is developing into an international community, welcoming a growing number of companies, partners and investors. We are proud of this innovative model, created in Italy in 2012, which is able to support companies in their global development and access to greater capital”.
