London Stock Exchange welcomes Invest Sri Lanka and the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE)
The London Stock Exchange, today, welcomes the Minister of Finance of the Government of Sri Lanka Hon. Ravi Karunanayake and the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE).
The CSE operates the only share market in Sri Lanka and is responsible for providing a transparent and regulated environment where companies and investors can come together. The CSE is a company that is limited by guarantee established under the Laws of Sri Lanka and is licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). It is a mutual exchange consisting of 15 Members and 15 Trading Members and all Members and Trading Members are licensed by the SEC to operate as Stockbrokers. The CSE hosted an “Invest Sri Lanka- Investor Forum” at the Savoy Hotel, London, yesterday (29th October, 2015) to attract institutional investors; the programme featured a number of informative sessions on the opportunities for investment in equity and debt within the Sri Lankan capital market and facilitated opportunities for interested parties to meet with a select group of listed companies.
“The relationship between the Colombo Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange is a historic one and we are pleased to be organising an “Invest Sri Lanka – Investor Forum” in association with the London Stock Exchange. This forum is a testament to the longstanding relationship that exists between the LSE and the CSE and we are certain that our association will develop further through the connections forged at this Forum,” Chairman (CSE) Mr. Vajira Kulatilaka said.
