Futures For Kids was founded in 2008, by a group of people in the derivatives business in London.

The aim was to raise money from our Industry to support children’s charities around the world and we have distributed a total of more than £2 million in that time and supported more than 40 charities.

Our primary focus is to provide underprivileged children around the world with an opportunity which they might otherwise not get.

The charities we have supported have ranged from Fairbridge in Hackney and Leadership through Sport in the East End which help children in London with education and work opportunities, to a Street Kids programme in Kenya with HopeHIV where our funding has helped more than 5000 children in the slums of Kibera.

We have supported a number of charities in Sierra Leone and Nepal both of which have been hit by terrible tragedies in recent months.

A school that we have helped build in Nepal has been badly damaged and a number of children who attended left homeless and our hope is to raise much needed funds for people in desperate need.

On May 15th 2015 we are holding Futures for Kids Day where the aim is to get as many people in our Industry to participate in any way that they can.  More than 70 people will take part in the “Walk to Work”, including a team from the LSE,  walking as much as 35 miles into London.

Many are hosting their own events such as dress down days  or donating £10.59 which represents the average amount City workers spend on food at work each day.

Thanks to generous support from many organisations and individuals we hope to raise more than £100,000 on May 15th

Anyone can donate at  https://www.justgiving.com/LSEDM-YouWillNeverWalkAlone and a large part of what we raise will go to help those in need in Nepal as well as other incredibly worthwhile charities.
