London Stock Exchange welcomes EMQQ and HANetf
London Stock Exchange today welcomed HANetf, Europe’s first independent white-label ETF provider, to the main market of the London Stock Exchange following the launch of their inaugural ETF - EMQQ Emerging Market Internet & Ecommerce UCITS ETF, trading under the ticker EMQQ.
This launch represents an historic milestone in the history of European ETFs as the first ever launch of an ETF via an independent white-label ETF issuer. This launch signifies that barriers to entry in the high-growth European ETF market have been effectively lowered, enabling any asset manager to enter an ETF market that was previously dominated by large asset managers and banks.
To celebrate the listing, Kevin Carter, Founder & Chief Investment Officer, EMQQ was joined by Hector McNeil and Nik Bienkowski, co-CEOs of HANetf to be welcomed by Ivan Gilmore, Head of Exchange Traded Products and Global Product Development from London Stock Exchange.
Kevin Carter Founder & Chief Investment Officer, EMQQ said: “We are excited to be launching EMQQ in Europe, following the tremendous success of the strategy in North America. We believe that European investors will benefit from gaining pure exposure to the fast growing and innovative Internet companies in Emerging Markets which we believe is the best way to access the growth of the digital consumers in this large and important part of the world.”
Hector McNeil co-CEO of HANetf said: “The first launch via the HANetf platform is a significant milestone for our team, but also a watershed moment for every asset manager wanting to evolve their European ETF strategy. With this launch, HANetf has single-handedly removed the high barriers to creating and launching ETFs in Europe, opening the gates for more asset managers – traditional, systematic or active - to benefit from the powerful distribution potential of ETFs.
Lida Eslami, Head of London Business Development, Exchange Traded Products and International Order Book, London Stock Exchange Group: “We are delighted to welcome EMQQ Emerging Market Internet and E-commerce UCITS ETF, the first ETF in Europe to launch via an independent white-label platform, HANetf.
