British Business Bank opens the market ahead of ‘Funding the Future’ event
London Stock Exchange this week welcomed the British Business Bank to host an event on the alternative finance landscape for smaller businesses. A Market Open Ceremony was held to celebrate the work of the British Business Bank and its ambition to improve funding options for small enterprises and enable the sector to prosper.
British Business Bank’s goal is to improve the finance markets for smaller businesses, helping UK companies prosper and build our nation’s economic activity. The British Business Bank plans to increase the supply of finance available to smaller businesses where markets currently do not work effectively and create a more diverse range of funding options and providers.
Ron Emerson, Chairman of the British Business Bank, opened trading on Wednesday 24th September before providing the opening remarks at the ‘Funding the Future’ event, which also took place at the London Stock Exchange. ‘Funding the Future’ brought together an audience of 150 from the small business community, ranging from entrepreneurs and investors to business leaders.
