London Stock Exchange welcomes National Grid
LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE WELCOMES NATIONAL GRID TO CELEBRATE ITS 20TH YEAR SINCE LISTING IN 1995
London Stock Exchange welcomes National Grid, on the occasion of its Full Year results presentation for 2015/16, to open the stock market to mark its 20th year since listing (11 December 1995).
Through the years, National Grid has developed through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions. It is now one of the world’s largest investor-owned utilities, focused on transmission and distribution activities in electricity and gas in both the UK and the US, playing a vital role in connecting millions of people to the energy they use, safely, reliably and efficiently. And we are proud that our work and our people underpin the prosperity and wellbeing of our customers, communities and investors.
This full year results day also represents a special occasion for National Grid’s recently appointed Chief executive; John Pettigrew, who has been with the business for nearly 25 years since joining in 1991.
John Pettigrew commented: “I’m delighted to mark National Grid’s 20th year of listing at the LSE today. Joining the organisation as a graduate, I couldn’t be more proud to now lead it as the CEO. I look forward to continuing the great work we are doing and am confident we will meet the challenges and opportunities of the changing UK and US energy landscapes.”
