London Stock Exchange welcomes Moving Ahead
Moving Ahead celebrates its Athlete-to-Business Mentoring Scheme by opening the market at London Stock Exchange today. Moving Ahead, a specialist diversity and mentoring organisation, works with elite athletes and major businesses to help athletes transition out of sport and into the workplace. The Athlete-to-Business scheme helps corporations recognise and take advantage of their unique skillset. Moving Ahead matches athletes with top tier business leaders and guides these pairs through a twelve-month mentoring programme which is designed to help both mentor and mentee develop and grow.
Moving Ahead is the brother organisation to Women Ahead, a specialist social enterprise that enables organisations to create better inclusion and diversity in leadership. Women Ahead runs the largest cross-company mentoring scheme in the UK, on behalf of the 30% Club.
Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE, multiple Paralympic Champion spoke at the event about the importance of a duty of care to our athletes as they transition out of sport, and she acknowledged the great work of Moving Ahead in enabling this.
Liz Dimmock, CEO and founder of Moving Ahead and Women Ahead said:
"It is an honour to open the market at the London Stock Exchange today. This exciting celebration of business in the heart of the City, is the perfect way to demonstrate how we can connect sport and business to create positive change for our talented athletes. Like business leaders, athletes demonstrate commitment to excellence, exceptional teamwork and total resilience under pressure. We’re thrilled that LSEG is championing the life-changing Athlete-to-Business Mentoring Scheme along with other major corporations including Deloitte, Belron and PwC."
