London Stock Exchange welcomes Franklin Templeton

London Stock Exchange today welcomes Franklin Templeton Investments’ first range of smart beta ETF strategies in the UK. The four equity smart beta ETFs trade under the Franklin LibertyShares™ brand.

The fund range is comprised of two multi-factor equity funds which have a specific focus on quality stocks:

  • The Franklin LibertyQ Global Equity SRI UCITS ETF
  • The Franklin LibertyQ U.S. Equity UCITS ETF

And two income focused funds which invest in stocks demonstrating high and persistent dividend income:

  • The Franklin LibertyQ Global Dividend UCITS ETF
  • The Franklin LibertyQ European Dividend UCITS ETF

Philosophically consistent with Franklin Templeton's long-term approach to active stock picking, LibertyQ indices are rooted in strong economic rationale and are strategically designed by custom weighting four factors - quality, value, momentum and volatility. The four funds are designed to seek higher risk adjusted returns and lower volatility than their investment universes.

Patrick O’Connor, global head of ETFs comments:
"Our strategic goal, three years in the making, has been to build a world class global ETF platform. Following the successful launches of our active and smart beta ETFs in the US and Canada, we are excited to be bringing the product suite to the UK. We are committed to providing our clients the best – in class investment solutions and vehicles in which to construct their investment portfolio and we believe the addition of smart beta ETFs will complement our existing active management product ranges."

Franklin Templeton Investments is one of the world's largest asset management groups providing global and domestic investment management to retail, institutional and sovereign wealth clients in over 150 countries.
