London Stock Exchange welcomes the AIM Conference 2017
The Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury and Xavier Rolet opened the market today on the occasion of the Annual AIM conference.
The conference is London Stock Exchange's flagship event focused on entrepreneurial and innovative businesses quoted on AIM. The event brought together industry leaders and experts, participating in a series of panel sessions, providing an update to over 100 CEOs and CFOs across a wide variety of sectors.
This year's event focused on a diverse range of interesting and relevant themes that AIM companies currently encounter. The conference provided feedback from the recent discussion paper on the AIM rules, which reflected upon the market's development since its launch in 1995 and considered enhancements to the regulatory framework. One of the expert panels examined why good governance matters for both companies and investors, with a spotlight on how to promote dialogue on Environmental Social Governance and the alignment between managing risk and corporate governance. After looking at the latest trends and investor expectations when raising permanent capital on AIM, the conference considered relevant future developments, such as engaging the investor and analyst community in a post MiFID II world and the changing face of trading AIM securities.
This year's conference was made possible thanks to the sponsors PwC, Stifel and Edison.
