London Stock Exchange Group announces School-Home-Support as the new UK Charity Partner

LSEG’s New UK Charity Partner opens London markets on LSEG's annual Charity Trading Day.

School-Home Support has been announced as LSEG's new UK Charity Partner, after coming top in our recent poll of UK colleagues. The winning charity's identity was revealed today – and as 31 October is also our Group's Charity Trading Day, it was wholly appropriate that a team from School-Home Support was at Paternoster Square this morning to open our London markets.

Education and life skills

School-Home Support (SHS) has been working with disadvantaged children and families since 1984, providing access to the education and life skills young people need so that they can go on to lead secure adult lives. The charity's frontline staff, known as practitioners, are based in primary and secondary schools, where they work to help overcome the damaging effects on children of issues such as poor housing and domestic violence.

This 3-year partnership with LSEG Foundation will provide a huge boost to a charity that has, to date, been operating on a limited budget. UK-based Group employees will have plenty of opportunities to get involved in fundraising initiatives throughout 2018.

Opening the market

This morning a team from SHS, led by CEO Jaine Stannard, joined Xavier Rolet, CEO of London Stock Exchange Group to open the London market and kick off Charity Trading Day.

Also joining charity sponsors and colleagues for the Market Open were representatives from Unicef, our global Charity Partner, as well as Leap Confronting Conflict and the Mayor's Fund for London, the other charities shortlisted in our colleague poll.
