    Touch Rugby Tournament 2017

What is the tournament supporting?

The tournament is supporting two separate initiatives; the proceeds raised from the event will go to the LSEG Foundation, whose partner charities are UNICEF and the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust. Additionally, we will be supporting the Harlequins Foundation with their mental health campaign Mettle and their girls rugby programme Switch.

What is Touch?

Touch is a non-contact version of rugby that instead emphasises agility, passing and catching. 

What are the rules?

The rules can be found on The Event page.

Will each team get a kit?

Yes, each team will be provided with a kit, with 10 shirts, 10 shorts and 10 pairs of socks.

What footwear will be required at the Tournament?

Only trainers are allowed to be used on the HAC pitches. No boots with any sorts of studs are allowed (without exception).

Do I need to be an experienced player to get involved?

All levels of experience are welcome, including complete beginners. The games are short and there will be substitute players for each team.

Where do I go on the day?

What do I need to bring on the day?

You will need to bring photo ID to be let in on the HAC premises and a pair of changing attire for the after-event. There will be changing room on the premises, with shower facilities. The after-event is a smart casual event. You will be provided with water during the tournament.

Can I come and support my colleagues?

Yes you can, the tournament is free for all of those who want to support their favourite teams. Please send your name to touchrugby2017@lseg.com in order to be allowed to enter HAC grounds. Please bring photo ID with you.

What will happen during the after-event and who can attend?

For security reasons, the after-event is open to players, staff and permitted guests. It will start at 8.30pm. Each team will have their own table. A buffet will be served, followed up by a comedy act, the award ceremony and an Auction, the Raffle winners will also be announced during the after event. The event should finish by 11.30pm.

Should you want to join the celebrations, please ensure that you have let the organising team know beforehand and bring an ID with you.

Where can we collect our team kit?

The team can collect their kit when they arrive at the HAC.

Will our team get a rugby ball to practice with?

Yes, you will be able to collect this with your team kit.

Will I need cash on the day?

Yes, if you would like to buy some raffle tickets you will need some cash to do so. Auction items and additional drinks from the bar can be purchases using debit and credit cards.

Can I buy drinks when playing?

Yes, there will be an outside bar.

Can I buy food when playing?

No, we do not have any facilities to sell food.
