Alexander Justham (“JJ”) has been CEO of the London Stock Exchange plc since June 2012.
In this role, JJ oversees information services and capital markets products within LSE plc, including the UK primary markets business. He is also responsible for regulatory strategy, government and public affairs, and UK regulation across the entire London Stock Exchange Group.
Before joining the London Stock Exchange Group, JJ served as Director of Markets at the Financial Services Authority (FSA) between 2008 and 2011.
During his time at the FSA, he represented the UK on the Board of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), and its predecessor organisation CESR. He co-chaired the G20 IOSCO task force on commodities, and also chaired the OTC Derivatives Regulators’ Forum. He received an award for Best Personal Contribution at the 2011 Financial News awards.
Prior to joining the FSA, JJ was a Managing Director at JPMorgan. He had worked for JP Morgan since 1989, holding a variety of roles including Co-Head of the Financial Institutions Group at JP Morgan Cazenove and Co-Head of Structured Finance, and Head of Securitisation at JP Morgan.
JJ holds an MA in Mathematics from Magdalene College, Cambridge.
Dr Gerard Lyons has been Chief Economic Advisor to Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, since the beginning of this year. This followed a 25 year career in The City, most recently as Chief Economist, Group Head of Global Research & Advisor to the Board at Standard Chartered Bank. In 2010 and 2011 he was ranked number one forecaster globally by Bloomberg (out of over 360). At the start of this year he was predicting 2% growth for the UK versus the then consensus of close to zero. His first book ‘The consolations of economics’ will be published by Faber and Faber next April.
Donald Keith is Deputy Chief Executive of FTSE Group (“FTSE”) and has been with the company since 1999. Donald has overall responsibility for developing FTSE’s business across the USA, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific.
Donald began his FTSE career directing the company’s sales, marketing and client services functions in Europe, growing FTSE's business in the UK, France, Scandinavia and Southern Europe. In 2001, he was promoted to the position of Deputy Chief Executive and since then has focused on building FTSE’s business globally. Under his leadership, FTSE has substantially expanded its offering to international investors to include a comprehensive set of indexing services for its range of asset classes, geographies and investment strategies. He leads FTSE’s initiatives in developing its business in the important Chinese market, has overseen FTSE’s entry into new markets including the Middle East, India, Australia and Latin America, as well as heading up the development of partnerships between FTSE and stock exchanges globally.
Donald also plays a major role in developing FTSE’s relationships with Asset Owners and Sovereign Wealth Funds globally.
Donald holds a degree in Law from Cambridge University, and is a regular speaker for FTSE at financial conferences around the world.
Dr. AU King Lun is the Chief Executive Officer of BOCHK Asset Management Limited. Prior to joining the company in 2010, Dr. AU was the Chief Executive Officer of FRM Hong Kong Limited. Previously, he held various senior management positions at HSBC Global Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited, GMO Hong Kong Limited and Baring Quantitative Management Limited.
Dr. AU served on a number of public committees. He was the Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities Institute from 2006 to 2008 and the Chairman of the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association in 2004/2005. In July 2008, Dr. AU was awarded the Medal of Honour by the HKSAR Government for his valuable contributions to the securities and asset management industry. In January 2013, Dr. AU was named the “CEO of the Year” in the 2012 Best of the Best Awards organised by Asia Asset Management.
Dr. AU holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the Oxford University and a Doctorate in Theoretical Particle Physics from the Durham University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Securities Institute.
Joaquim has over 18 years experience in the area of Quantitative and Equity Derivatives research, having run and managed a number of highly ranked research teams.
He is currently the Head of Quantitative Research at HSBC, which has included responsibility for HSBC’s index creation and calculation capabilities. His current area of research focusses on indices and index strategies, relative value mispricing and risk premia strategies.
He has delivered keynote speeches and invited talks on Derivatives, Indices and Climate Change in countries including Germany, US, Japan, UK and Spain and also serves on a number of committees and advisory boards in relation to Indices, Climate Change and Sustainability Assurance.
Joaquim holds a PhD in Solid State Physics and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh.
As Deputy Head of Primary Markets, Jon Edwards helps to oversee the work of London Stock Exchange Group’s Primary Markets team. Jon is personally responsible for developing the London Stock Exchange's business in Russia and the CIS, spending a majority of his time working with companies, advisors and regulators in the region who are interested in London Stock Exchange markets. Jon and his team work to promote both Main Market and AIM listings to Russian and CIS companies and advisors, and work with companies to increase their profile among London’s investment community.
Jon studied at Columbia University where he received his BA degree in Russian studies and joint JD/MBA degree in business and law. He joined the London Stock Exchange in August 2003, before which he worked on private equity transactions for Incepta Ventures UK Limited, Delta Capital and BNP-Invest. Mr Edwards has more than ten years of experience working with CIS companies in the natural resources, consumer products, real estate and TMT sectors.
Mr. Bruce Yichun Hsueh is currently the Special Advisor to the Chairman of Wisdom Marine Lines Co. Ltd. His responsibility includes investor relation, capital markets, project financing, company administration and insurance. He has been with Wisdom Marine Lines Co. Ltd. since April 2007. He graduated from the National Taiwan University with a bachelor degree in Economics and a dual master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
Michael Lin is President of the Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation (TWSE). Prior to his current position, Mr. Lin was a Senior Executive Vice President and Spokesman for TWSE with responsibility for units ranging from information and technology, strategy planning to corporate communications. His career in the Taiwan capital market has spanned 23 years.
Mr. Lin puts emphasis on open communication with stakeholders. He proactively encourages two-way dialogue between global investors and the Exchange and has successfully pushed for market reforms to open up the Taiwan market. With his long-term experience in technology, Mr. Lin continues his efforts to modernize the IT infrastructure to support the rapid growth of business needs. In addition to TWSE, Mr. Lin has also served as the Chairman of the Taiwan Ratings Corporation since July 2010.
Before joining TWSE in October 2006, Mr. Lin was Senior Executive Vice President of the Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC). Prior to his tenure at the TDCC, from 1990 to 2006, Mr. Lin worked at the Financial Information System Center and Post Office for fifteen years.
Born in May 1951, Mr. Lin holds an LLB degree from National Taiwan University. Mr. Lin also has a Master's in MIS (Management Info Systems) from National Chengchi University.
Nicolas Bertrand is Head of Equity and Derivatives Markets for London Stock Exchange Group. Appointed in 2010, Nicolas is responsible for UK and Italian equity markets and the Group’s derivatives markets.
Nicolas joined Borsa Italiana in November 1999 and has been responsible for IDEM, the Italian Derivatives Market of Borsa Italiana, since January 2004. In July 2009, Nicolas was appointed head of the newly created “Equity Markets and IDEM” division within the London Stock Exchange Group, which combined the equity cash and derivatives markets, overseeing the Italian and UK equity cash markets and IDEM. He is also a board member of FTSE and Turquoise.
Prior to joining the Exchange, Nicolas worked for Citibank and developed his expertise trading on various markets and asset classes. Nicolas graduated in econometrics and holds a postgraduate degree in finance (DESS 203) from Université Paris IX-Dauphine in Paris.
Mr Beneteau is currently responsible for GES/DR sales & origination globally. In addition, he serves as a member of the FI & Securities Sales Exco, and of the GTB UK Steering Committee. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2008, he worked with J.P.Morgan's DR group, as well as ECM group.
Mr Beneteau graduated from Cambridge University (Magdalene College).
Mark Hanney is the Chief Executive Officer of Valbury Capital Limited.
Mr Hanney established Valbury Capital as a mid-market broker-dealer serving corporate, institutional and private clients. The firm is regulated by the FCA, is a member of the LSE, and currently employs 40 staff in its equity, F&O and foreign exchange businesses. The Company has a special focus on Asia, providing specialist market access to international clients and a dedicated European broker for Asian based investors.
He began his career with Arthur Andersen and subsequently held senior executive and Board level positions at leading international brokers including Cantor Fitzgerald (now BGC), Jefferies, Refco Europe and Marex-Spectron. Mark was a founding Director of Marex-Spectron.
He holds a BSc in Economics and is a Chartered Accountant.
Mr Crumley joined Barclays at their inception to build an Asian equities business 3 years ago. He has been sales trading Asian, Australian and Japanese securities to European long and long/short institutions for 23 years. He has also been heavily involved in trading Asian GDRs and ADRs for 13 years. Prior to joining Barclays, Mr Crumley was at Citigroup Global Markets for 10 years, where he ran the Asia Pacific sales trading desk in London.
Paolo Giulianini is Managing Director and Head of ETF Trading and Market Making joining UniCredit Corporate & Investment Banking in 2007. Paolo runs a well established and successful ETF team based in London, in Munich and in Milan. They are Authorized Participant for all ETFs issued by all ETF issuers (Amundi, Comstage, db x-trackers, EasyETF, ETF Securities, DekaETF, HSBC ETF, Invesco Powershares, iShares, Lyxor, Ossiam, RBS, Source, SPDR, UBS ETF, Vanguard) and Market Maker on all asset classes listed on different European Exchanges (ie. London Stock Exchange Borsa Italiana, Deutsche Boerse, NYSE Euronext). For 10 years in a row UniCredit has been rated as number 1 ETF house from Deutsche Risk Magazine and also Best Market Maker in the ETF Awards from Portfolio International.
During his 14 years as Head of Delta 1 Products at Banca IMI he was responsible for building the activity from scratch into one of the leading market makers for ETFs in Germany, France and Italy in terms of official market making roles, trades and Benchmark Certificates. He worked for IMI Bank in Luxemburg and in Frankfurt between 1994 and 1997. He graduated from BocconiUniversity in Milan in 1994.
Deborah Fuhr is a managing partner and co-founder of ETFGI, an independent research and consultancy firm established in 2012 covering the global ETF and ETP industry. Chris Flood has been a reporter on FTfm, the Financial Times fund management supplement, for threee years, helping to provide coverage of exchange traded funds,
indexing, smart beta and the debate between active and passive management. Before joining FTfm, Chris reported on commodities, UK and European equities as part of the FT’s markets department as well as writing a weekly economic outlook column.
Nurhaida has been the Chief Executive of Capital Market Supervision, Indonesia Financial Services Authority / Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), since July 2012. In this position, Nurhaida is responsible for the regulatory and supervisory activities on the overall Capital Market industry in Indonesia.
Before holding the present position, since February 2011 Nurhaida had been the Chairperson of Indonesia Capital Market and Financial Institution Supervisory Agency (Bapepam-LK), the regulator of the capital market and non-bank financial institution in Indonesia prior to the establishment of Indonesia Financial Services Agency. Her career in the capital market industry supervision spanned for more than 18 years.
Nurhaida graduated from Institute of Textile Technology, Bandung, Indonesia and earned her Master of Business Administration from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA, in 1995.
Clifford leads PwC’s global cross border IPO centre based in London. He has many years of experience of working on capital market transactions and has led the reporting accountant work on many large IPOs of both UK and overseas companies, many in energy and mining sectors. Clifford’s projects include the IPOs of ENRC, Exillon Energy, RusPetro, Justice Holdings, Vallar (and the subsequent acquisition of Bumi and Berau), and Vallares plc (and subsequent acquisition of Genel Energy). He has also been working with a number of governments and sovereign wealth funds on privatisations and IPOs of their portfolio companies.
Abdul Halim Ashari has been the President Director of the Company since December 2007. Prior to joining the Company in 2002, he began his career as an Assistant Manager with Kulim (M) Berhad in 1978. He joined Boustead Holdings in 1981, with his last position there being President Director of PT Boustead Management Services, based in Indonesia. He attended the Senior Management Training Program at Harvard Business School, among others.
Neil was formerly at J.P. Morgan Cazenove for 9 years where he worked in natural resources corporate finance and capital markets. His clients included Xstrata (whom he advised on their merger with Glencore), Ophir, Genel Energy and NWR. He has raised over USD30bn in capital in more than 45 capital markets transactions in his career as well as advising on a number of the resource industry’s transformational mergers and acquisitions. In 2012 Neil was named one of the Rising Stars of Finance by Financial News. Neil was formerly a helicopter pilot in the British Army. Neil has an MBA and an MA (Oxon).
Mr Andrew Rickards qualified as a Chartered Accountant in London in 1988 having read Engineering Science at University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. He started his investment banking career in 1990 with Barclays de Zoete Wedd and subsequently, worked for some major names in the field of investment banking including Schroders, Goldman Sachs and N.M. Rothshild and Sons. He has lived and worked in India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and Australia and has been responsible for raising capital and advising on mergers and acquisitions in many emerging Asian countries, including India, Vietnam, Indonesia and China.
He is also an Independent Director of Charm Communications Inc, a NASDAQ-listed Chinese advertising company.
He is an active sportsman with interests in sailing, skiing and triathalon. His philanthropic activities include marine conservation (where he is Chairman of Bloom Association in Hong Kong, the Paris based marine conservation charity) and supporting medical and other philanthropic institutions in Myanmar.
Appointed to the board of YSH on 21 November 2011, Mr Rickards is an Executive Director and the Chief Executive Officer of YSH.
Neil joined VTB Capital as their Macro Strategist in 2009. He regularly comments in UK, Russian and international media on global macroeconomic issues and financial market developments. He has over 25 years experience in the financial markets.
Before joining VTB Capital, Neil worked in the hedge fund industry as chief economist at Nexus Capital (then affiliated to Soros Fund Management) and The ECU Group (a London-based currency management and hedge fund group). Neil started his career as an economist with HM Treasury.
Suwei is a Partner and Senior China Advisor in PwC UK's China Business Group. She is experienced in delivering M&A transactions, IPO projects and assurance engagements both in the UK and in China. She has worked with clients in a variety of industries, and led numerous projects advising UK companies investing in China and Chinese companies investing in Europe. Suwei has a wide network of key stakeholders, including governmental and regulatory bodies, both in China and in the UK.
Suwei joined PwC London in 1998 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2001. Suwei is a former Council Member at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), and former member of the International Advisory Panel at ICAEW.

Prior to joining Kimberly-Clark Giles was employed by Glaxo SmithKline, joining as a graduate trainee in 1989 and progressing through brand and customer management. In 1995, Giles was appointed Category Director for GSK’s Oral Healthcare business.
Giles was born in the U.K in 1966 and has an Honours’ degree in Business Studies.

John McLean has been involved with China since the late 1990’s and currently spends approximately a quarter of each year in China. John is Chairman of AIM–listed China Food Company plc, which is based in Weifang, Shandong province and produces and distributes soya sauce and other condiments and also operates an animal feed manufacturing business. He is also Chairman of AIM-listed Sorbic International Plc, the leading Chinese sorbate manufacturer and distributor. In 2011, John joined the board of the China Britain Business Council (CBBC), which helps UK companies grow and develop their business in China, and he has continued to contribute to the promotion of UK/China interests. In addition to these roles, John is a member of the VSO International Council and Chairman of VSO China, which has been operating in China for over 30 years. VSO is the world’s leading independent international development organisation which uses volunteers to fight poverty.
John is a Chartered Accountant and was previously with Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC) in both London and New York.
